1kg Cashew Price in Sri Lanka: Retail vs Wholesale, and What to Check

The short answer
As of October 2026, a 1kg pack of our roasted cashews costs between Rs 7,299 and Rs 7,799. Cooking Cashew, which is plain and unseasoned, is Rs 7,299. Oven Roasted Cashew is Rs 7,699. Our Classic Roasted Salt & Pepper, Garlic, Deviled and Burnt cashews are Rs 7,799 each. Our Cashew Powder, which is finely ground cashew for cooking, is Rs 3,699 per kilo.
Prices change with the market, so check today's figures on our cashew price guide, which is updated straight from the shop. This post explains what sits behind the number.
Why a 1kg pack costs less per kilo
Buying a bigger pack lowers the price per kilo. Take our Classic Roasted Salt & Pepper Cashews: four 250g packs cost Rs 9,596, which is the price of a kilo bought in small packs. Two 500g packs cost Rs 8,398, and a single 1kg pack costs Rs 7,799. Choosing the 1kg pack instead of four small ones saves about Rs 1,800, or roughly 19 percent.
The same pattern holds for Cooking Cashew: buying a kilo as four 250g packs costs Rs 9,196, against Rs 7,299 for a single 1kg pack, a saving of about 21 percent. If you will use the cashews within a few weeks, or you can store them properly, the 1kg pack is the better value. Our storage guide shows how to keep them fresh.
Retail price and wholesale price: what is the difference?
A retail price is what you pay for a pack bought by one customer, with the cost of roasting, packing and handling built in. A wholesale price is the lower per-kilo price a business gets for buying large quantities, usually many kilos at a time, often of raw or unroasted nuts.
The prices on our website are retail pack prices. If you are buying for a restaurant, a hotel, an office, a wedding or another event and need more than a few kilos, ask us for a quote on our bulk orders page. There is no minimum quantity, and we quote each request individually, usually within one to two business days. Our corporate gifting guide explains how large orders work.
What the 1kg price includes
The price covers cashews that are 100% Sri Lankan and roasted to order in small batches, then sealed in a pouch, so they reach you fresh. It does not include delivery, which is charged separately by weight, and pickup from our Kalutara pickup point is free.
What delivery adds to a 1kg order
Delivery is charged by the weight of the parcel, which is your cashews plus about 50 grams of packaging. A single 1kg pack weighs about 1.05 kg in the parcel, which falls in the 1 to 2 kg band and costs Rs 400. Two 1kg packs weigh about 2.05 kg and cost Rs 450. Five kilos cost Rs 600, and ten kilos cost Rs 850. The same fee applies anywhere in Sri Lanka, and delivery takes five to seven business days. The full table is on our shipping policy, and the cart shows the exact amount before you pay.
How to compare 1kg prices fairly
A lower price per kilo is not always a better deal, so compare like with like. Check whether the cashews are whole kernels, split halves or pieces, since pieces cost less per kilo, as we explain in what cashew pieces are used for. Check the size grade, because larger kernels cost more, as covered in how many cashews are in a kilo. Check whether the nuts are raw or roasted, whether they are seasoned, and how fresh they are.
Finally, add delivery and compare the total. A cheaper kilo that arrives stale, or with a high delivery charge, may cost more in the end. Our guide to buying cashews online in Sri Lanka has a checklist.
Which 1kg pack should you choose?
For cooking curries, rice and sweets, Cooking Cashew is plain and made for the job. For snacking and sharing, the Oven Roasted Cashew is a simple, unseasoned choice, and the Classic Roasted Salt & Pepper Cashews suit a gathering. If you like spice, try Deviled Cashew, and for something smoky, Burnt Cashew Nut. For smoothies, gravies and baking, Cashew Powder costs the least per kilo.
