Cashew Delivery Fees in Sri Lanka Explained: What You Will Pay, Pack by Pack
One fee for the whole island
We charge the same delivery fee wherever you live in Sri Lanka, whether you are in Colombo, Galle, Jaffna or a small village. The fee depends only on the weight of your parcel, not on the town. Delivery takes five to seven business days. The cart shows your fee before you pay, so there are no surprises.
How the fee is worked out
We weigh your order, add about 50 grams for packaging, and use that parcel weight to find your fee in the courier's table. Each band includes its upper limit. Up to 250g costs Rs 200. Up to 500g costs Rs 250. Up to 1kg costs Rs 350. Up to 2kg costs Rs 400, up to 3kg costs Rs 450, and up to 4kg costs Rs 500. It rises by Rs 50 for each extra kilo up to 10kg, where the fee is Rs 800. Between 10 and 15kg it is Rs 850, between 15 and 20kg it is Rs 1,100, between 20 and 25kg it is Rs 1,600, between 25 and 30kg it is Rs 2,100, between 30 and 35kg it is Rs 2,600, and between 35 and 40kg it is Rs 3,100. The full table is on our shipping policy.
Worked examples
A single 250g pack weighs about 300g in the parcel, which falls in the 250g to 500g band, so delivery is Rs 250. A single 500g pack weighs about 550g, which falls in the 500g to 1kg band, so delivery is Rs 350. A single 1kg pack weighs about 1.05kg, which falls in the 1 to 2kg band, so delivery is Rs 400. Two 1kg packs weigh about 2.05kg, so delivery is Rs 450. Five kilos weigh about 5.05kg, so delivery is Rs 600, and ten kilos about 10.05kg, so delivery is Rs 850.
Our gift boxes are weighed with their packaging. The Thank-You Gift Box is about 650g in the parcel, so delivery is Rs 350. The Snack & Cook and Festive Trio boxes are about 900g, so delivery is Rs 350. The Cashew Taster Gift Box is about 1.03kg, and the Grand Festive Gift Box about 1.15kg, so delivery for each is Rs 400.
Why bigger orders cost less to deliver per kilo
The fee goes up much more slowly than the weight, so a larger order costs far less to deliver per kilo. A 250g pack costs Rs 250 to deliver, which is Rs 1,000 for every kilo of cashews. A 1kg pack costs Rs 400, which is Rs 400 per kilo. Five kilos cost Rs 600, which is only Rs 120 per kilo. If you were planning several small orders, one bigger order is much cheaper to send.
Ways to pay less for delivery
Combine packs into one order, because each order is delivered as one parcel with one fee. Choose a bigger pack, as in our price per 250g and 500g guide, where the saving on delivery adds to the saving on the cashews. Share an order with family or friends who live at the same address or nearby. And consider pickup, which is free from our Kalutara pickup point if you live nearby.
From time to time we run offers, such as free delivery above a certain order value. These are shown on the homepage and in your cart while they last, and they are applied automatically at checkout.
Pickup in Kalutara
Pickup is free. Collect your order from No 28 Goods Shed Road, Kalutara, after two business days. It is an order pickup point and not a walk-in shop, so please order online first. You can pay in cash on pickup at any amount, with no advance payment.
Very large orders
Our delivery table stops at 40kg. For heavier orders, we quote the delivery separately, so message us on WhatsApp or choose pickup. For events, hotels and businesses, send a request on our bulk orders page, and we will quote the whole order individually.
Delivery times and what can change them
Our five to seven business days are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery times can vary with courier demand, weather and public holidays, and it is wise to leave extra time around festivals such as New Year, Vesak, Deepavali and Christmas. We send you an email when your order ships. For gifts, order at least two weeks before the day you need them, as in how to choose a cashew gift box.
Check your exact fee
The quickest way to see your fee is to add your items to the cart. It shows the weight, including packaging, and the fee for delivery or pickup. For a look at all of our prices, see our cashew price guide. To see which towns we deliver to, read the delivery areas page or where to buy cashews online in Sri Lanka.
